Maximize Your Globe Tattoo

Globe Tattoo is a really awesome product, but we’ve been getting complaints that some of our loyal subscribers have been suffering from intermittent connections or slow service. We heard you guys and would like you to have a great experience with Globe Tattoo. Here’s a quick and easy tip on how you can optimize your Globe Tattoo Broadband to get a faster, more reliable connection.

You don’t have to modify your dongle, or look any further for instructions on the Web to look for solutions. Globe Tattoo has given us this quick and easy solution to make your Globe Tattoo connection and browsing experience faster:

1. Launch the Globe Tattoo graphical user interface (GUI) by double-clicking on the Globe Broadband icon on your Desktop, or you can wait for the GUI to launch once you attached the dongle to a vacant USB port.

2. Go to the Tools menu, click Options, then go to Network and select Network Type. From that menu, choose the option labeled “WCDMA preferred.”

3. As soon as you find a WCDMA signal, shift to the WCDMA Only option. Same goes for a 3G or HSDPA signal. Just select whichever signal is strongest in your location.

See? You only need to follow three simple steps to get a most reliable wireless broadband connection through Globe Telecom.

WCDMA is the latest innovation in wireless broadband. HSDPA and 3G connections are faster and more stable than what you get from EDGE or GPRS. HSDPA has an average speed of 400 to 700 KBPS, with a maximum speed of 2 MBPS. 3G will give you up to 150 to 250 KBPS average speeds, while you’ll reach a spike of up to 384 KBPS. When you select the “WCDMA preferred” option, the dongle will find the fastest, most reliable connection type within its reach.

You can check if your SIM is set to time based or KB-based charging by texting STATUS to 1111. To get the most value from your prepaid or postpaid Globe Tattoo service, just text TIME to 1111 using your Globe Tattoo SIM. To check your balance from the Globe Tattoo Broadband user interface, click the SMS button and send BAL to 222.

Once you’ve set your Globe Tattoo unit to these settings, you’re sure to have a fast, reliable connection that you can get only from Globe.

I’ll be trying this once I get home today. You see, we have an internet connection at the office with fixed 2MB download/2MB upload speed. This experience had shortened my patience a bit and got me raging when my tattoo connection at home gets timeout errors and can’t even open my amazon account page.

    Thanks for this information.

I cannot select network type. it is disabled. please help….

The network type options can only be accessed when disconnected (do the procedure above before connecting). I noticed that most connections available are GPRS and its too slow to connect even to google. I travel between Pampanga through EDSA to Cavite and Laguna. QC, Makati and Alabang are the only places with HDPA connections. Pampanga, Pasay, Cavite and Laguna have GPRS only.

I suggest that for the meantime have an alternative like giving more discount to prepaid users, like 10 per hour if the connection is too slow. Most of the tome my 20 pesos was wasted to nothing, until i will just log out due to no connection or still loading. Or provide an unlimited surfing for a certain amount. Sun Cellular have the unlimited postpaid and yet they have a good signal, 75% of my friends quoted that. So why not come up with a promo that will give more benefit to your clients rather than switching to other network. Well, they end up selling their usb coz they availed of the sun plan.

globe tattoo works well for win7. ok na sana ang ang globe tattoo. first week since buying tattoo ang bilis ng speeds but with acceptable disconnections. pero during these last few days wala na internet. connected naman pero wala as in dead ang internet. sayang ang P20. mas mabuti pang pumunta sa internet cafe or kumain ng snacks. fix this problem globe. maganda na sana tong globe tattoo.
